Never Let Go Movie Review Synopsis:
NEVER LET GO tells the tale of a mother, played by Halle Berry, and her twin sons – Sammul (Anthony B Jenkins) and Nolan (Percy Daggs IV) – living in a house in the woods haunted by an evil spirit. While the mother can feel the presence of the spirit, her sons remain oblivious. To protect themselves, they tether themselves with a rope when venturing into the forest to hunt, limiting their exploration. When Sam accidentally releases the rope, the family faces a food shortage, sparking doubts in Nolan about the spirit’s existence and the consequences of letting go. The ensuing events unfold the rest of the film.

The storyline crafted by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby is intriguing and fresh. However, the screenplay’s slow pace and convoluted nature hinder the narrative flow. Despite this, the dialogues are passable. Alexandre Aja’s direction sets a chilling atmosphere akin to his previous works like THE HILLS HAVE EYES [2006], with unexpected plot twists adding surprise elements for the audience.
Yet, the overly intricate narrative may confuse viewers, especially in the sluggish first half. The film picks up in the second half, but some may find a lack of depth in vital characters jarring.

Halle Berry shines in a challenging role, showcasing her acting prowess and immersing herself in the character.
