Our film takes places in a small rural town in the state of Gujarati, India.
A teacher Shyam (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Shyam, has a special eye for one of his female students. Sandhya, his student and young love-interest is played by the lovely (Shweta Tripathi). As the relationship progresses he ends up having an illicit after with fifteen year old,Sandhya.
Many twists and turns follows as the relationship continues and as secrets are revealed. A younger boy is already in love with Sandhya and is trying everything he can do to get her to notice him.
Shweta Tripathi, our female lead in her acting desires to be known for more than being a pretty face or arm candy for men.Which, is true as she has taken us on this personal, realistic, and sad journey with Sandhya. It really shows us how easy it is for young women to be able even though getting involved in difficult circumstances. Can in fact, stand up for themselves and decide what they truly want out of education and life.

Music for “Haraamkhor” is composed by Jasleen Royal. The soundtrack and it’s theme song is by Kara Gour. Who, is a well-known writer, director, and composer.Gour’s work has also been featured in the 2011 movie “Corrode.” He also had written and directed this film. He is now back with more of his talents now featured in this film.
“Harramkhor”, havingas of date been even featured at many film festivals in 2015 and in 2016. Including New York’s annual Indian Film Festival or, (NYIFF). The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, (IFFLA). As well, as being one of the sought after and chosen films to be shown at the MAMI festival.
This film has received criticism as well as awards. There was a complaint made against the film’s director. The films marketing and promotion featured a logo that was similar to another organizations. There was even talk of banning the film by India’s censor board.
However, in positive news about the film includes the lead actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was awarded with the “Best Actor” award at (NYIFF) New York Indian Film Festival.The reviews have been overly positive rating high on the charts.
Surprisingly, this film was shot in only sixteen-days in 2015. In various locations throughout India. The film’s original release date was on April 8th, 2015.
This a great start for the debut writing and directing talents of Shlok Sharma. His work seemed to have a great response to it. As well as being well-rewarded.
