Is an upcoming Punjabi animated movie, a sequel to the 2014 film Chaar Sahibzaade, which is going to be released on 11th November 2016.
Based on the true story of a Sikh guru, saint, and a warrior who ultimately sacrificed himself for his people. He was the first Sikh military leader and general ever in India’s history. This is an awe-inspiring tale of one of India and world history’s greatest unsung heroes.
Banda Singh Bahadur (born Lachman Dev, also known simply as Banda Bahadur. Was born on October 27th , 1670 and died June 9, 1716.
In his teenage years, he left home to follow the spiritual discipline of Asceticism and was given the name ‘’Madho Das’’.
He then founded a monastery in Nānded, on the bank of the river Godāvarī. In September 1708 he was visited by, and then became a follower of, Guru Gobind Singh, who gave him the new name of Banda Singh Bahadur.
Now, that he was blessed by the Guru Gobind Singh, he formed a fighting force and led the struggle against the Mughal Empire.
Bahadur abolished the zamindari system, and gave property rights to the workers of their own land. He was captured by the Mughals and tortured to death in 1716.
Mughals were oppressing and persecuting the people of the land during the 1700’s. He worked to rid the land of oppression, corruption, and green that the reigning regime used against its people.
In December of 1715, our hero Banda Singh Bahadur was captured from the Gurdas Nangal fort and confined to an iron cell. The other Sikhs were then captured and chained. The Sikhs were brought to the city Delhi in a fashion like that of a parade. It had 780 Sikh prisoners, 2,000 Sikh who heads were hung on spears, and 700 cartloads of heads of slaughtered Sikhs all used to terrify and keep the population in life.
They were confined in the fort in Delhi and forced to convert their faith and become Muslims.
Each and every one of them refused to denounce their faith and their god. So, because of this all of them were ordered to be executed..
This was a public display and massacre of the Skih prisonsers and heros. It went on for months and then everyone was killed.
Finally, our hero after three months of imprisonment. He was tortured his eyes gouged out, his members cut off, his skin, removed and then finally he was killed. What a story of a hero, we don’t hear about or discuss in our history books.
This film is in three languages Hindi, Punjabi, and English. It is a beautifully told true story of how a few men stood up to an Empire.
