R Madhavan Unites with Ajay Devgn for De De Pyaar De 2, Shoot Paused
The highly-anticipated sequel to the romantic comedy De De Pyaar De has sparked excitement among audiences as the shooting for De De Pyaar De 2 began. Fans were thrilled to hear that R Madhavan, who recently worked with Ajay Devgn in the horror film Shaitaan, is reuniting with the actor for this sequel. However, the shooting of the film hit a roadblock as director Anshul Sharma was diagnosed with dengue, causing a pause in the production.
The filming of De De Pyaar De 2 commenced in Patiala, Punjab, but had to be halted due to the director’s health issues. Despite completing around 7-8 days of filming, the team had to return to Mumbai. An inside source shared, “Once Anshul recovers, the team will resume the shoot in Mumbai and pick up the Patiala schedule as soon as possible, depending on the actors’ availability.”
The storyline of De De Pyaar De 2 will continue with Ashish and Ayesha taking their relationship to the next level by meeting Ayesha’s family. R Madhavan is set to play the role of Ayesha’s suave father, who is not entirely convinced about Ashish as his son-in-law, leading to a series of amusing events. Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh will reprise their roles as Ashish and Ayesha, with other cast members from the previous film also expected to join this romantic comedy. The movie, produced by T-Series and Luv Films, is scheduled for release on May 1, 2025.
In related news, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet, and R Madhavan were set to start shooting in Punjab for De De Pyaar De 2 in September, as reported earlier.
