Our story focuses about a doctor name Jahangir Khan (played by Shah Rukh Khan) who help a young girl Kaira (played by Alia Bhatt) through a tough time in her life.
A film that deals with real life of Kaira who is a young career filmmaker that lives in Mumbai trying to make her dreams come true. She has a difficult family situation but does have a few close friends to depend on. She doesn’t have any luck however in the love and relationship department. She breaks up with her boyfriend Sid (played by AngadBedi). Kaira’s love in a turn of events becomes engaged to someone else. She loses her apartment and everything seems to be toppling and crashing over in her life. Another man is also in Kaira’s life, Rag (Kunal Kapoor) is a fellow co-worker in the film industry. He is really into her but she doesn’t want a relationship with him. As things happen, she goes back home to her parents. Kaira, fed up with how her life has been discovers she needs help and meet with BD; Dr. Jahangir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan). As, they work through her issues through therapy sessions with the doc. She discovers it is helping to relax her due to his inventive methods to healing. He helps her to address her deep seated issues so that she can finally be free from her past. He helps her to realize that life doesn’t always have to be perfect. That even in the day to day you can be present and enjoy and be thankful. He truly helps her to look at life in many fresh and different ways like she hasn’t done before. The chemistry between the leads Shah and Alia is very good.
So, the story overall is a very lovely and emotional ride. Sad but ending up hopeful. A very good easy-going love story. Heart-warming film dealing with the life of a young women. It’s a very cute and refreshing film.
The film takes place in beautiful scenery of the regions of Mumbai and Goa.
This is our director Gauri Shinde’ssecond film. He also wrote “Dear Zindagi” as well. Which, provides a fluency with the storyline and how it’s ultimately brought to life.
The music is by Amit Trevidi. He brings his talents and unique musical experience to the songs. The soundtrack has eight songs included on it. It’s produced by the Sony Music Label.
This move has been very well receive by audiences and critics. The reviews are mostly three and four star which is a good thing.
