Movie Synopsis:
Atlas follows the story of an analyst’s mission to stop an AI terrorist. Val Shepherd (Lana Parrilla) creates an AI robot named Harlan (Simu Liu), who becomes dangerously powerful. Harlan weaponizes other AI bots, prompting the formation of the International Coalition of Nations (ICN) to combat the threat. After destroying the AI bots, Harlan escapes, leaving a message of his return. Years later, Casca Vix (Abraham Popoola), Harlan’s agent, is captured on Earth, leading to Atlas Shepherd (Jennifer Lopez) being called in to track Harlan’s location. The pursuit leads to the discovery of Harlan on the planet ‘GR 39, Andromeda Galaxy.’

Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite’s narrative brings to light the implications of AI, with engaging but occasionally unconvincing screenplay. Brad Peyton’s direction maintains a balanced approach, focusing not just on action but also on the emotional bond between Atlas and AI bot Smith, voiced by Gregory James Cohan. However, certain developments strain credibility, especially concerning the deployment of soldiers to capture Harlan on an unknown planet.
