Exciting Update on Akshay Kumar’s Upcoming Movie “Tirangaa”
MyAxom Reviews had recently reported that the upcoming Akshay Kumar-starrer film “Tirangaa” is not a remake of the 1993 movie with the same name. Now, we have exclusive information that the movie will be directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan.
Director Selection and Production Details
A source close to the production team revealed, “The producers of the film – Ashvin Varde, Subhash Kale, and Narendra Hirawat – in collaboration with Akshay Kumar, decided that Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan would be the perfect choice to give the film the commercial treatment it deserves. This led to the acclaimed director coming on board.” The source also mentioned that “Tirangaa” is set to start filming by December 2024.
Director’s Background
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, known for directing award-winning films like “Lahore” (2010) and “72 Hoorain” (2023), has a proven track record. He was also part of the writing team for Ranveer Singh’s cricket drama “’83” (2021).
Previous Collaborations and Shelved Projects
Interestingly, Sanjay and Akshay were supposed to work together on a film called “Gorkha,” produced by Aanand L Rai. However, due to technical and factual issues, the project was put on hold. Additionally, Sanjay was also set to direct “Chandamama Door Ke,” a space-themed movie starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput.
Clarification on Movie Remake Rumors
In response to reports suggesting that “Tirangaa” is a remake of the old film, producer Narendra Hirawat clarified that the movie featuring Akshay Kumar is an entirely original script and not a remake. An official announcement regarding the project is expected soon.
